The project involves the design and comprehensive adaptation of the new building of the Peruvian Congress to support the country’s transition to a bicameral legislative system. The aim is to transform the building to accommodate both Peru’s future Senate and its Chamber of Deputies.

Covering approximately 26,000 m², the plans foresee 150 offices for legislators, committee offices, a data center, meeting and conference rooms, an auditorium, a television studio, press facilities, parking areas and a range of technical, operational and support spaces. All areas have been designed to prioritize efficiency and flexibility and enable the smooth flow of people and activities throughout the building.

The scope of work includes the construction of some 30,000 m² of interior partitions and 15,000 m² of Luxury Vinyl Tile flooring, incorporating construction solutions that both allow for future reconfigurations, and streamline implementation processes. The project also includes the complete overhaul of the lifting systems and all technical installations.

Delivered under the NEC4 contractual framework, the project presents significant technical and logistical challenges. The schedule includes a two-and-a-half-month design phase followed by two successive construction stages of four and six-and-a-half months, requiring detailed planning and close coordination between all those involved.

Overall, the project prioritizes quality, safety, accessibility and user comfort, creating modern, functional spaces befitting one of Peru’s most important democratic institutions and supporting the effective operation of its new bicameral Congress.
